About Us

History. Tradition. Quality.

Cold Spring Brewing Company dates back to 1874, and has a rich history not many breweries this side of the Atlantic can claim.

Our story began long before we built our brewery, with a spring fed with pure, prehistoric glacial lake water filtered through granite for thousands of years. In the 1500s, the large, natural spring was noted by French-Canadian trappers traveling along the Red River Trail. Over time, our spring became a popular stop for westbound settlers. So popular, in fact, that the town of Cold Spring, Minnesota formed up around it in 1853.

Naturally, we built our brewery at the spring – a decision soon followed by over 125 years of success and award winning brews. Today, Cold Spring Brewing Company includes Third Street Brewhouse, the craft beer division of the company, and has grown into the nation’s #1 specialty drink producer. Although we’re always evolving, we remain committed to quality.

Cold Spring Brewing Company is the nation’s largest beverage producer – producing, packaging and distributing top names in soft drinks, beer, malt beverages, energy drinks and more.
